Circus Trick (Sort Of)

Despite being completely photo-crazy for most of the trip, Diggs and I somehow missed catching a full sequence of this incredible problem in Moab. In attempt to make up this most egregious error to you all, I have pieced together an artists rendition of what a send might look like. Though many of us tried it, I believe that only Thomas was able to send. Josh Helke was the closest of us mere mortals. I am very excited to try this the next time we make it around the old big bend. I would highly recommend that you do the same.

Split Decison

Tired of media from the desert? Then post something else! I'm down. Here K-Diggs crushes "Split-Decision" at the big bend bouldering area in Moab. This problem is a bit on the awkward side, but has one of my favorite features. TOP OUT JUGS! Come on, tell me you don't love em! So after my brief hiatus with the plague, regular posting activity should recommence. My apologies for the lack of new content.

Brown Power

Brown power sits on a boulder in the middle of nothingness. It's REALLY cool. It looks like a stumpy little block from the parking area, but when you walk up to it several beautiful lines just jump out at you. This is the best line on the boulder in my opinion. Big moves on good holds and a wicked "out of the pool" mantle at the top. Ignore the guidebook grade and give it heck!

The Great Roof

As a degenerate boulderer and someone who is absolutely terrified by the exposure found in the lead cave of most rock gyms, the idea of climbing through The Great Roof pitch in Yosemite is like a nightmare, getting teeth pulled, and skipping christmas all in one. I just don't want to do it. I'm such a wizard sleeve. Just wanted something fresh up because I'm tired of the dello jump. More better postingness coming your way this afternoon.

Everyone's favorite Marcelo turned 11 again this year. Just ask him about it! He'll also be happy to tell you how being born in february actually reduces your age if you live beyond a certain point. Don't ask me. I had a beer and thought about it and it still doesn't make sense. Regardless, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DELO!!!!!!!!!!

Phantom Dyno

Everyone's favorite Thomas is a beast. He takes the Chuck Norris approach to climbing. That is, he doesn't climb the problem... he wills it to fall beneath him. This is Mr. Betterton absolutely hucking his meat skyward in hopes of latching a really crappy sloping ledge. He did top this problem out on the Friday we were driving through snow to join him. Unfortunately at the photo session the Thomas was too tired from sending EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE AREA to do it again for the camera. Oh well. Some things are better left to the imagination. BTW this thing is disturbing in its size. The pictures do not do it justice. I found it funny that it was an all points off dyno, but all four points hit the pad on the landing. Proof is in the pictures below. I'M JEALOUS OF YOUR CRUSHING THOMAS! WOOT!
