Sport Hiking
I haven't hiked for the sake of hiking in a LONG time. In my mind, it is just a necessary evil to reach the boulders.
Karyn gave me a much needed foot in the ass and we enjoyed a beautiful day watching her doggers go ape-nuts crazy and hiking around the boulder foothills.
But it is STILL sport hiking...

do you like volleyball? a few of us go to this place called the The Oasis on friday nights. Open bar, indoor beach volleyball until 2 am. It can be amazing. We just need 4 people all together to field a team (its drop in). First pitcher is on me.

sport hiking can be much more fulfilling when you call it "rock shopping" i.e. scouting new stone, or areas new to you!
on non-climbing days, amy and i used to log a decent number of miles hiking, which hikes i selected entirely based on bouldering guidebooks to check out areas i had not been...
just a thought!
also, an unfortunate note: frank destroyed his knee... not just popped something like we're used to hearing about, but the whole thing looked worse than the joe theisman leg in a photo on becca's facebook page. if you guys get a chance, give him a shout/email
